I am a Cajun from Lafayette, Louisiana. I was born there and I live there now with my wife, Caroline. I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) and later received a Master of Architecture degree from Texas A&M University. I worked in Houston for a while and then joined the teaching staff at Texas A&M. I then moved back to Lafayette and became a teacher in the Department of Architecture at ULL. Thirty years later I retired.
I enjoyed teaching and I won awards and things and, while I am proud of that, I am also proud of the fact that I have built a collection of artwork which embodies a thought process which excludes exterior influences; specifically, the mores and folkways of society. At the same time, I find the human condition a most interesting artistic subject. I make snapshots of stages of the human condition. The process is not linear and the result is not as important as the journey.
