Mary Caroline Spano

Mary Caroline Spano was born and reared in north Louisiana. Her mother’s enthusiasm for art and textiles as well as her late father’s love of color, nature, wildlife and gemstones helped inspire her passion for jewelry design. She believes a unique flair can be accomplished by making a smart choice in an interesting, attractive piece of jewelry.

Her hand-crafted jewelry incorporates cultured freshwater pearls, semi-precious gemstones, elements found in nature, vintage items, recycled objects and varied metals. Mary Caroline collects materials and inspiration from travels at home and abroad with a special love of Spain, France and Italy. Her designs can range from $36 to $400.

Mary Caroline attends the Tucson Gem Show annually which is one of the largest global gem exhibits in the world. She has traveled as far as Basel, Switzerland to purchase raw materials and to Bangkok, Thailand to have her designs executed.

In her hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana she has been featured in the Shreveport Times, City Lights, on Heart of Shreveport cable television program with Dr. Karen Pendleton, the morning show on KTBS with anchor Sonja Bailes, and as guest speaker at the Cambridge Club of Shreveport, the University Club of Shreveport, The Shreveport Symphony Guild, The Women’s Department Club and The Shreveport ERA Civic Club. Notable personalities wearing her designs are media consultant and former anchor of FOX News Channel Laurie Dhue, double Grammy nominee Forever Jones, a family band, author and world renowned life coach Lisa Bevere and up-and-coming country/gospel music artist Dez Duron.

Mary Caroline’s designs have been shown at merchandise markets in Dallas and Atlanta, in boutiques such as Latitudes of Boca Grande Island, Florida, The Blue Giraffe in Water Color, Florida, Ocotillo’s of Borrego Springs, California, Eclectic Design and Interiors of Lafayette, Louisiana, Smith Mason Legacies in Shreveport, Louisiana and in Lavish boutique of Crested Butte, Colorado as of spring 2011.
